Hey folks! Ever had a dream to meet all the legends of the animation industry under one roof?! well...Here is your big chance to make it true! I am very proud to announce and co sponsor CTN 'Under Your Own Power' ART CHALLENGE 2013, an online art competition exclusive for students only! The winner gets a Exclusive VIP trip to this years CTNX with a VIP pass to all the events OR a New talent Table! And that's not it! The judge panel include legends like Glen Keane, Armand S. Baltazar, Andy Gaskill, Ed Gombert, Kekai Kotaki, and Scott Robertson! So start scribbling down your ideas right away!

International Design Challenge Presented by the Creative Talent Network
Win a VIP trip to the CTN animation eXpo

The Creative Talent Network, known as the premiere community for top talent artists in the animation, video and film industry, is hosting their first annual international design challenge where the winners win a VIP trip to the CTN animation eXpo. Open to emerging talent, young artists will show how they would design their own way of getting to the CTN animation eXpo from their part of the world to the animation capital of the world, Burbank CA USA. Whether a flying machine, shot out of a cannon or space travel the goal is to tell their story in one image and impress the judges. The distinguished panel of judges include legendary artists Armand S. Baltazar Feature Film Animation Senior Designer, Andy Gaskill Feature Film Animation Art Director, Ed Gombert Storyboard Artist, Glen Keane Feature Film Legendary Animator, KekaiKotaki Video Game Concept Artist, and Scott Robertson Concept and Transportation Designer.

This challenge is being presented in association with artists and supporters from the following countries. CGMA of the United States, DattarajKamat of India, Arludik Gallery of France, Satzinger& Hardenberg Feat. of Germany / Austria / Switzerland, Paul Young and Cartoon Saloon of Ireland, Sergio Pablos and SPA Animation Studios and Pablo Navarro of Spain / Brazil.

The top winner that is chosen receives a complimentary VIP trip to the CTNX 2013 held this year on Nov 15-17, 2013.

FAQs

Who is eligible to enter the contest?

CTN Challenge is open to animation and media arts students from around the world, who are 18 years of age or older as of October 10, 2012, and are either a current student or recent graduate within 2 years of October 10, 2012, and have not worked as a professional in the field of animation, illustration, media arts and video games.  This challenge is for “emerging artists” to showcase their talent.



What can I win? What are the prizes?
One (1) Grand Prize: Round trip coach airfare winners location LAX not to exceed $1,200 plus, limo driver pick up and return from LAX to hotel and back,  up to 5 room nights at the event hotel, one (1) New Talent Table or / one (1) full VIP 3-day event passport to the CTN animation eXpo all awarded in the form of a flight ticket and registration and reservation number. Can not be exchanged for cash.

What is the theme of the contest?

The theme is 'Getting to CTNX Under Your Own Power'. Create a single piece of finished digital artwork that describes the story idea of getting yourself to CTN. Whether a character design or a location /environment or 3D model or set the goal is through storytelling and design you describe  The Story of Getting to CTNX in Burbank USA.  Artwork must be a final piece of digital art and be submitted through the CTN registration upload page in .jpg format and cannot exceed the size of 1024 x 1024.  

When is the submission deadline?


All artwork must be received by 11:59 p.m. PST, October 10th, 2013.
